Huge corms (the "bulb"). I soaked them in shallow tepid water for a few days before planting in spring, and before fall two were in flower (the flowers emerge before leaves) and planted in semi-shade around shrubs and trees. All five flowered before the first year end. So far they seem to have survived -26 degree cold as the leaves are still looking good, but fingers crossed. Lovely dainty pink flowers - everyone who sees them says ooh and aaah.
