One of the best native perennials for attracting butterflies.
Deliciously scented, bright orange flowers are among the very best for attracting butterflies to the garden. Strong, attractive plants with downy stems bear large clusters of showy, crown-like blooms. This native North American plant adds bold beauty to garden borders as well as bouquets. Asclepias tuberosa

Very pretty plant and flower, but flowers were not the true orange as in the picture. They were more of a yellow-orange like the stella de oro day lillies.

Delightful colour, survivor Review by Joanne Huber - Toronto , ON

In their first year these are still quite small, but each has produced flowers: bright, wonderful clumps of orange. There hasn't been a lot of bee or butterfly activity, but they have a lot of competition (and their companion plant, the blue hill salvia, also didn't attract pollinators until it had reached a certain size, so they may just need to be a bit bigger/more established). As a final note: don't give up on these. We ordered a good number of perennials this year, and it's a tricky business. Not all survive being in the post or being planted out. Of all the plants I thought we'd lost this was the only one to burst through the soil after I'd practically given up. One was quite seriously almost a month later than the others to sprout leaves and show signs of growth, but is now almost as big and blooming happily.

Very pretty Review by Cress - Grand Valley, ON

Very striking. Doesn't seem to grow as tall as the pink and white varieties and it doesn't seem to like soil that is too wet.
