With petal-packed, pastel and jeweltone blooms, double Siberian iris always turn heads in the garden and perennial border. But even before and after flowering, their neat clumps of decorative foliage are a professional landscaper's dream. It's rare to find a plant that looks so great for so long with so little attention.
Easy to grow in zones 3–9, the versatile Siberian iris thrives in sunny spots with moist soil, but also adapts well to dryer conditions and part shade. Bees and butterflies will flock to the colourful blooms, another bonus for modern gardeners wanting to preserve our most precious pollinators. Best of all, these iris will return for years without dividing—just plant them and enjoy.
The five extraordinary varieties in our Double Siberian Iris Collection were chosen for their unusual double form, staggered bloom times and stellar reputation. The result is an easy-care iris display that looks like it was done by a pro.
This collection includes one each of the following varieties:
Concord Crush: Violet-blue, fully double flowers are 12–14 cm across and arrive midsummer on 70–80 cm stems. See Ya Later: Violet-red, double blooms with small gold signals grow on 75–85 cm stems. These 11 cm flowers bloom late spring to early summer. Having Fun: Exquisite, rose-violet iris is shaded lighter along the edges. 15 cm flower has a light blue-lavender halo and a chartreuse throat. Blooms are supported by 75 cm stems. Pink Parfait: Lavender-pink, fully double flowers are No postage necessary. 15 cm across and arrive midsummer on 70 cm stems. Kaboom: Majestic multiple award winner has rich purple petals with a spectacular gold-and-white sunburst blaze. 15 cm blooms open atop 75 cm stems. Still growing wild in some of the world's coldest regions, the Siberian iris is as hardy as its name suggests. But that's just a small part of this plant's claim to fame. Slim, grassy foliage arrives before the flowers and stays long after—providing months of beauty each season. It's like getting an ornamental grass and iris in one!
