Here's a flowering, shadeloving plant with hear tshaped foliage that remains attractive well after the autumnal equinox. Its sprays of small, lilac-purple flowers emerge in spring and attract butterflies. The plant's dark green leaves turn red in fall to continue the colour show. To give full effect to the flowers, remember to prune old leaves down to the ground in late winter.
