Widow's tears, or spiderwort, is beloved for its grass-like foliage and extended bloom time—and Zwanenburg Blue Widow's Tears is one of our favourites. Growing 45-60 cm tall, this sun-loving perennial has a nice bushy, upright habit. In early summer, its 4-5 cm, deep purple-blue flowers open in early summer and keep blooming until frost! The jewel-toned blooms attract butterflies and look lovely against the bright green foliage. For the best flowering and repeat blooming, cut back after flowering. Zwanenburg Blue Widow's Tears is a versatile, low-maintenance perennial that can be grown as a ground cover or in borders. Deer generally leave it alone.
