Fernlike foliage with un-fernlike blooms.
Known for textured, fernlike foliage and striking, trumpet-shaped blooms, each plant features 3–5 stalks up to 45 cm tall. This perennial multiplies freely and forms neat clumps—a lovely border addition that's adored by hummingbirds. Not a true fern, it needs a bit of sun to thrive in the ground or in pots. Incarvillea delavayi

I planted them a few weeks ago and they are flowering already. The only thing I have to mention is that the plant is quite small (no more than 10 cm). And my flowers seem to be more of a light pink colour.

Only giving them a four star rating right now, but I'm sure that will change soon. I planted these a week ago without really expecting much. This morning I was greeted with 1 shoots coming through the soil so I know they are going to do just fine. All the bulbs I got from Breck's this spring are growing like weeds and I'm doing the happy dance. I planted the ferns under my oak tree where they get morning sun and afternoon shade in well drained soil, and they have taken to it like ducks to water. Highly recommend!

June 1st all 3 plants were only 3 tall so had little hope for blooming. Wrong! June 2nd all three started blooming and 2 are still blooming end of August now more than 18 tall!
gorgeous!

I wasn't sure of the conditions it preferred, since part shade covers a variety of conditions. I put my 3 in 3 very different spots, and all 3 bloomed beautifully. What seemed to do best is sun in the morning and afternoon shade. One area was really dry, one moist, and one medium. All 3 responded well. I'll definitely be buying more now!

I planted three of these two years ago, and they grow and bloom quickly. Two never made it through the winter, but the one closest to my house (about 1 foot) came back and bloomed last year and again this year, and with just a light winter mulch. I would say they're really a zone 5 or zone 6 plant.
hardier than expected

I'm in growing zone 5a. Locally, this is sold as a 'garden gloxinia'with a growing zone 7 recommendation. I simply mulched it well and it blooms like you wouldn't believe-- from May to last frost. Lovely!

It would help a lot if you put a zone number with this plant. I live in the Prairies. We have short summers with long days, and very cold winters.
