Small, sunny flowers grow in tightly packed clusters
There's a lot going on with this beautiful, sun-loving perennial! Its large, bright golden flowers bloom during summer in flat, plate-like compound corymbs measuring about 10 cm across. These flower clusters grow atop 90–120 cm tall stems that rise above fern-like foliage. The finely cut, aromatic leaves are grey-green in colour and produce visual interest for much of the year. This versatile yarrow can be grown as a specimen, planted en masse or used in back of a border. Butterflies can't resist the blooms, which make excellent dried or fresh-cut flowers. The somewhat spicy scent of the deeply dissected leaves lingers even when used in dried arrangements. Excellent drought resistance and unappetizing to deer and rabbits.Achillea filipendulina
