Don't let the goatsbeard name fool you—this is one elegant and easy-to-grow perennial. In early to midsummer, feathery, creamy white plumes open and sway in the breeze. Butterflies love to flit from plume to plume. Sparkles Goatsbeard's finely cut leaves remain handsome all season long and provide wonderful texture in a mixed perennial bed or woodland garden. Because it prefers moist soil, it also does well grouped near streams or water gardens. This must-have perennial grows 40-50 cm tall and is long lived. Deer tend to pass it by.
